Early on in my practice I had the good fortune of working with a landlord on an eviction matter and landlord/tenant law has remained a fixture of my practice since.   In the time after I have helped landlords navigate the process of eviction for tenants refusing to stay current with rent and I have assisted a number of tenants in dealing with landlords that failed to abide by the laws binding them.  I have seen a variety of transgressions by landlords ranging from refusing to do requested maintenance to the improper shutting off of the tenants water.
